UVA QUIZ NIGHT 2010 - Register your teams early!

Planning Application Oakhurst Manor

An updated planning application has been received today by Seal Parish Council for Oakhurst Manor, Bank Lane, Hildenborough.
 
The outline application states: Redevelopment of Oakhurst Manor with 81 affordable dwellings (comprising a mixture of houses & apartments), 1 shop unit with associated public open space, landscaping, access roads and car parking.
 
This is a resubmission following the withdrawal of an earlier application, the new application reference is TM/09/029902/OA.

Omri Epstein began his training at the Israeli Conservatory, and won a scholarship to the Purcell School, where he studied with Ronald Smith, and performed Rachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto. He subsequently gained a scholarship to the Royal College of Music, and has also studied in Berlin, and participated in various masterclasses. He has performed for Israeli radio, at Versailles and at the Wigmore  and Queen Elizabeth Halls.

All matches are played on Tuesday evenings at the Weald of Kent Grammar School in Tonbridge.  Fixtures start at 7.00pm unless otherwise stated.  Players are requested to be at the ground 30 minutes before the start of play.

Sevenoaks Living Landscapes Vision

The Sevenoaks Living Landscapes Vision

The landscape south of Sevenoaks is one of the gems of the Kentish countryside: a distinctive patchwork of ancient woodland, lush pastures and hedgerows, punctuated by arable fields, orchards and small ponds, which runs from the Greensand Ridge through to the Low Weald. The area contains important core sites for biodiversity, and has great potential for enriching the wildlife-value of existing habitats and restoring much of the past biodiversity of the landscape.

This is the basis for the Sevenoaks Living Landscape Project, covering a stretch of countryside between Sevenoaks, Bough Beech and Ivy Hatch, which aims to create a living landscape by:

Underriver Habitat Project

The Underriver Habitat Project has been running for many years, it has raised awareness of our local wildlife and what individuals can do to help to improve the habitats in and around the village.

We are very pleased that what we have achieved in the village is now being built on by the Sevenoaks Living Landscape project being led and co-ordinated by the Kent Wildlife Trust. This ambitious project aims to link up land for wildlife in the area between their reserves at Bough Beech, Sevenoaks and Ivy Hatch and Underriver is being used as one of the foci for getting this going.

For the first year of the project a number of free courses and fun days are being organised and details of these will be posted on this website.

Calling all frogs, toads and newts!

March, April and May at the best times to look in your ponds and find out whether you have any frogs, toads or newts present. Look during the day and you may see their spawn, look at night with a torch and you may see them. The project is monitoring all sightings so please contact Fidelity or Camilla to let them know what you see or if you would like Fidelity to come and have a look for you please give her a ring. Even if you do not see anything we want to know!
